About the 2024-2025 Spring Term Academic Peer Support Program

Our University's Sustainable Teaching and Learning Center (STL) organized 79 events in the 2024-2025 Fall term. 171 faculty members and 1814 students attended these events. In the past term, our University came together with faculty members and students with seminars that examined the integration of Artificial Intelligence into academic processes. While the Academic Orientation program was completed with 21 newly appointed research assistants, a Course Design Workshop was held with faculty members from the Environmental Engineering and Mining Engineering Departments.

In the 2024-2025 Spring Term, events were planned in the Teaching Observation, Course Design Workshop, Academic Orientation, Innovative Teaching Sharing, Graduate Talks, Life Skills Seminars, Academic Peer Support programs, and we are starting two new programs this term: Basic Educator Competencies Training and Thematic Workshops for Course Activity Design. We would like to see you among us in these programs. You can register immediately for the 2024-2025 Spring Term programs by visiting “//stl.hacettepe.edu.tr”. You can also reach our Center at stl@hacettepe.edu.tr for your seminar or workshop suggestions.

Your participation and support are expected in the ACADEMIC PEER SUPPORT program, which will be organized for the 8th time this term, in line with the information provided below.

ACADEMIC PEER SUPPORT PROGRAM

This is a program for our undergraduate students. The main purpose of the program is to support students' academic success with the help they receive from their peers. In this context, students who need academic support are provided support through peer guides within the scope of the course and subject they need. Peer guides who have previously taken and successfully completed the relevant course provide support to other students on topics such as explanation of the courses in the program, problem solving, as well as preparation for exams and time management after the training they receive. With the Academic Peer Support Program, which basically provides peers with academic knowledge and experience sharing, in addition to the academic success of the students receiving support, the academic and social development of the students providing support (peer guides) is also supported.

In this context, we kindly ask you to send the information about the course/courses deemed appropriate to be included in the "Academic Peer Support" Program, the names and contact information (e-mail and phone number) of the students who have previously taken this course and passed with an "A" grade and who want to contribute to the program as a Peer Guide to the secretariat by the end of business hours on 27/02/2025.
