We have defined our department’s vision and mission with this perspective in mind. The environmental challenges we face in the 21st century are the result of one‑dimensional developments in the past. Today, we know that our solutions must be multidimensional, interdisciplinary, and sustainable. With this philosophy, our students learn to integrate engineering principles with fundamental sciences, law, economics, other social sciences, and technology.

Our department is accredited by MÜDEK through 2028, demonstrating that our education quality is internationally recognized. Our graduates are actively engaged in public institutions, the private sector, and national and international research centers, as well as in master’s and doctoral programs.

Research in our department spans the full scope of environmental engineering. We carry out innovative projects in areas such as ecosystem modeling, alternative energy systems, advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies, sustainable systems, and waste management. These projects are implemented in our new laboratories by a strong academic team. With the support provided by our undergraduate students, our research approach creates a sustainable model for continuous advancement.
