As part of the CEV302 Air Pollution and Control course, third-year students of our department conducted a technical visit to the BAŞTAŞ Çimento Cement Factory located in Elmadağ, Ankara, on May 8, 2026, accompanied by the course instructor Dr. D. Deniz Genç Tokgöz.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe the cement production process on-site and gained detailed information about industrial air pollutant emissions, dust control systems, flue gas treatment technologies, and environmental management practices.

In addition, students observed how air pollution control methods discussed theoretically in class are implemented on an industrial scale and gained insight into the role of environmental engineers in industrial facilities.
