Green Transition of Industry – Industrial Emission Management

In the weekly seminars of the Environmental Engineering Department of Hacettepe University, the seminar delivered by İrde Gürtepe, who currently serves as the Head of the Air Management Department at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, focused on the "Green Transition of Industry – Industrial Emission Management".

The seminar highlighted recent developments in Türkiye’s industrial emission management and addressed the new legislative efforts in the context of aligning with the EU Green Deal and achieving climate targets. Ms. Gürtepe elaborated on the integration of best available techniques (BAT), cleaner production strategies, and emission control technologies as vital tools in reducing industrial air pollutants.

Moreover, the presentation provided insights into how industrial sectors are expected to adapt to the green transition through regulatory mechanisms, technological transformation, and monitoring requirements. Emphasis was placed on the role of environmental governance in ensuring sustainable industrial development and the importance of proactive emission management for improving national air quality standards.
