The 2024 call for the 1st period of the 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program, which is conducted by TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Department (BİDEB), has opened for applications on October 1, 2024, and applications will continue until November 1, 2024.
The 2209-A Program aims to encourage undergraduate and associate degree students studying at universities to conduct research and participate in the research ecosystem under the supervision of an academic advisor from universities. Students can apply to the program individually or as part of a team. If applying as a team, one of the students becomes the Project Manager. In a project, up to three partners, in addition to the Project Manager, can participate. Research assistants and lecturers, as well as faculty members, can serve as academic advisors.
Research projects are supported for a maximum period of 12 months, with a maximum funding amount of 9,000 TL. The program provides support for expenses such as machinery/equipment, consumables, travel, and service procurement required by research projects prepared by undergraduate and associate degree students studying at universities.
In the previous call, which was the 2nd period of 2023, 8,900 out of 16,694 project applications were granted support, resulting in an acceptance rate of approximately 53%.
